Basketball Game Preview: Katy Taylor Mustangs vs. Morton Ranch Mavericks

The Katy Taylor Mustangs will challenge the Morton Ranch Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Katy Taylor and five for Morton Ranch.

Last Friday, Katy Taylor came up short against Mayde Creek and fell 76-63. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 624th, while the Rams are ranked 250th).

Meanwhile, Morton Ranch also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Katy by a score of 63-54.

Katy Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Morton Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-19.

Katy Taylor barely slipped by Morton Ranch in their previous matchup back in January, winning 55-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Katy Taylor since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
