Preview: South Spencer Rebels vs. Tell City Marksmen
The South Spencer Rebels will head out on the road to take on the Tell City Marksmen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Spencer is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
South Spencer scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 67-56 win over Forest Park. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Molly Schulte continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sally Shelton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tell City came up short against Hancock County on Saturday and fell 53-46.
South Spencer's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Tell City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
South Spencer was able to grind out a solid win over Tell City in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 53-42. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Tell City's Jaylie Albin, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
