Soccer Recap: Streator/Woodland Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Streator/Woodland's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Moline Maroons on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that Streator/Woodland have lost by exactly two goals.

Streator/Woodland was without their leading scorer, Audrey Arambula, in Saturday's matchup. With Arambula sidelined, Rhea Huey got her first action of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Streator/Woodland and nudges their season record down to 4-14. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-3 Kankakee (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 55.1% over those games). As for Moline, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

Coming up, Streator/Woodland will head out to challenge Lisle at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Moline, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 victory against Kankakee on the 26th.
