Baseball Recap: Vienna Takes a Loss

Vienna made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Anna-Jonesboro, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 14th.

Vienna is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11. As for Anna-Jonesboro, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Vienna will challenge Goreville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blackcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Anna-Jonesboro, they will take on Massac County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
