Volleyball Recap: Norton Gets the Win

Norton won the last time they faced Trego and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bluejays had just enough and edged out the Golden Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bluejays have posted against the Golden Eagles since October 19, 2019.

Norton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-20, 25-9.

Audrey Bina paced Norton's offense, picking up 25 kills. Bina got some help from Leah Clark and her 36 assists. Bina was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Norton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. As for Trego, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-16.

Norton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Phillipsburg on the 11th. As for Trego, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Thomas More Prep-Marian on the 11th.
