Volleyball Recap: Norton's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Norton had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Trego Golden Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bluejays have posted against the Golden Eagles since October 19, 2019.

Norton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-20, 25-9.

Audrey Bina paced Norton's offense, picking up 25 kills. Bina got some help from Leah Clark and her 36 assists. Bina was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Norton's victory bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Trego, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season.

Norton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Phillipsburg on the 11th. As for Trego, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Thomas More Prep-Marian on the 11th.
