Basketball Recap: Everglades Snags 11th Win in Last 14 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Everglades had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 66-57 win over the Cooper City Cowboys. This was a revenge game for the Gators: when they faced off against the Cowboys back in November of 2024, they had to take a 77-72 loss.

Everglades got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeff Demosthene, Jr out in front who posted ten points. Chris Payoutte was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Everglades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cooper City only pulled down five offensive boards.

Cooper City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Noah Rupert, who had 17 points and six assists. Rupert has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Janiel Polanco, who scored 17 points.

Everglades has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Cooper City, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-11 record.

Everglades will take on Miramar at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Everglades will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Cooper City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
