Softball Game Preview: Lockhart Lions vs. Rouse Raiders

The Lockhart Lions will challenge the Rouse Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lockhart is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Lions on Friday. Lockhart lost 12-2 to Leander.

Presli Moebes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Rouse never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on Lehman with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Blakely Barber made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Madilynn George was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Collins, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Rouse pushed their record up to 15-9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lockhart, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.
