Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Patriots vs. Kerman Lions

The Liberty Patriots will challenge the Kerman Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty will be strutting in after a victory while Kerman will be coming in after a defeat.

Liberty is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Stockdale: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Liberty blew Stockdale out of the water with a 69-21 final score. The Patriots have beaten the Mustangs the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mustangs has come to flipping the script.

Liberty had a senior duo take command as Nevaeh Matthews went 7-for-14 to rack up 17 points and five steals and Brooke Tallon posted eight points along with ten boards and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Matthews has scored all season. Allison Acosta was another key player, putting up nine points.

Kerman has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were outmatched by Sierra Pacific and fell 66-23. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.

Liberty now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Kerman, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.
