Softball Recap: Ottawa Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Ottawa's offense. They fell just short of the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 back in April.

Ottawa has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for LaSalle-Peru, the win was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-3.

Coming up, Ottawa will venture away from home to challenge East Peoria at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for LaSalle-Peru, they will welcome Rochelle at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
