Basketball Recap: Stone Tomcats vs. Laurel Golden Tornadoes
After a string of six wins, the Stone Tomcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Laurel. If Stone was looking for revenge after losing 63-38 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Stone's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isiah Scarbough, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Ray Dennis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Stone's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-6. As for Laurel, they pushed their record up to 18-10 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Stone does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Laurel also has no future games currently scheduled.
