Softball Recap: Reed Beats Spanish Springs for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Reed walked away with it. They walked away with a 12-8 win over the Spanish Springs Cougars on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on five straight.

Breanna Staats was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Tiare Kanae, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Reed lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Reed's win bumped their record up to 29-5. As for Spanish Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-11-1.

Spanish Springs has already played their next matchup, a 10-8 victory against Bishop Manogue on the 9th. Hopefully Reed paid attention to the Cougars' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cougars at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
