Softball Recap: Forks Spartans vs. Coupeville Wolves
Forks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coupeville Wolves. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Chloe Gaydeski was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Bailey Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI.
Forks now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Coupeville, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
While Forks had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
