Baseball Recap: Lake Catholic Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Lake Catholic is still undefeated this season after their game against Mayfield on Tuesday, but Mayfield came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 6-4.

Danny Locker looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Patrick Radigan was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Brayden Mann, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Lake Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mayfield only posted a batting average of .233.

Lake Catholic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.25 runs across that stretch. As for Mayfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Catholic will face off against Gilmour Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mayfield, they will square off against Kenston at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bombers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.1 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
