Soccer Game Preview: Southern Wake Academy vs. Triangle Math & Science

The Southern Wake Academy Lions will head out to face off against the Triangle Math & Science Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Southern Wake Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Woods Charter just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Wolves, falling 8-3. The contest was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for Southern Wake Academy it sure didn't stay that way.

Hannah Torri and Emerson Rhinehalt scored all three of Southern Wake Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Meanwhile, Triangle Math & Science was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to Clover Garden School. That's two games in a row now that Triangle Math & Science have lost by exactly seven goals.

Southern Wake Academy's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Triangle Math & Science, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Southern Wake Academy took their win against Triangle Math & Science in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
