The Rancho Verde Mustangs will face off against the King Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Rancho Verde's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while King has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Rancho Verde's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Rancho Christian 2-0.

The result came thanks to Julian Dominguez's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Rancho Verde is 7-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sebas Cazares, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Jacob Cabral was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, King can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Jurupa Hills 7-6.
Isaac Sanchez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Carlos Moreno and Janson Moreno did most of the damage at the plate: Carlos scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Janson went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Janson has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was James Mejia, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Rancho Verde has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for King, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Rancho Verde might still be hurting after the 18-1 defeat they got from King when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
