Baseball Recap: Branham Bruins vs. Mountain View Spartans

Branham extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 10-7 in the process. They came up short against the Mountain View Spartans, falling 6-0. The Bruins were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in March of 2020.

As for Mountain View, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games.

For Mountain View's part, Preston Huang tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Huang a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
