Volleyball Recap: Phelps Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Phelps had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Marion Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Phelps started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Marion now has a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phelps will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Butternut at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marion, they will welcome Tigerton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
