Softball Recap: Lakota West Firebirds vs. Princeton Vikings
After only two runs in their last game, Lakota West made sure to put some runs up on the board against Princeton on Tuesday. The Firebirds blew past the Vikings 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Firebirds, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Ava Gilbert spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lakota West got a massive performance out of Paige Kopp, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Kopp a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elie Albright, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lakota West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
