Basketball Recap: Morning Sky Iron Moccasin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wingate over Tohatchi

Wingate played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Tohatchi Cougars, falling 61-37. The Bears were down 58-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Wingate lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Morning Sky Iron Moccasin, who posted ten points. Rhianna Begay was another key player, putting up seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Wingate and nudges their season record down to 14-11. As for Tohatchi, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wingate will venture away from home to square off against Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tohatchi, they will head out on the road to take on Zuni at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th.
