Softball Recap: Weiss Beats Little River Academy for Their Sixth Straight Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Weiss ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Little River Academy Bumblebees 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since April 5, 2024.

Jordynn Booe made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Booe was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other pitching news, Riley Impson looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Anabella Gomez was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Ashlyn Woydziak was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Weiss, bringing their record up to 14-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Little River Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11.

Weiss has already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against Georgetown on the 11th. As for Little River Academy, they will face off against Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
