Monmouth Academy came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 39-30 win over the Dirigo Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Dirigo saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Abigail Luczynski posted ten points. Emily Woods was another key player, putting up four points.

Monmouth Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. As for Dirigo, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Monmouth Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-39 loss against Hall-Dale on the 25th. As for Dirigo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
