Baseball Recap: Basha Bears vs. Horizon Huskies
Basha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Horizon Huskies. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Basha got a good showing from James Cull, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Cull gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Lincoln Demmons was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Chase Chanley, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Basha's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13-1. As for Horizon, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Basha will take on Chandler at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Horizon, they will challenge Mountain Pointe at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
