Softball Recap: Pace Finds Playoff Glory Versus Navarre

It's playoff time, and Pace had no trouble coming through when it counted. They skirted past the Navarre Raiders 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won five contests in a row.

Hannah DeMarcus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kamryn Pierce, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Franz, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Pace lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive games.

Pace's record is now 22-4. As for Navarre, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Pace nor Navarre have any future games scheduled.
