Basketball Recap: John Carroll Catholic Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Madi Burrowes and Samantha Rychter

John Carroll Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 52-39 to the Jupiter Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Warriors are ranked 105th).

Samantha Rychter and Madi Burrowes certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Rychter went 7 for 15 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds, while Burrowes went 6 of 12 on her way to 14 points and five steals. Burrowes is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Clive, who posted four points.

Leading Jupiter to victory were Kaydince Hallas and Ainsley Graybeal. Hallas went 5 of 6 on her way to 15 points in addition to six boards and five steals, while Graybeal almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Olivia Mulham, who had eight points.

John Carroll Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Jupiter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

John Carroll Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-34 victory against St. Edward's on the 10th. As for Jupiter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 35-28 defeat against Dwyer on the 9th.
