Hiland came tearing into Thursday's match with 11 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Newcomerstown Trojans as they made off with a 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2020.

Hiland's got stronger as the match went on, holding Newcomerstown to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-12, 25-11.

Addi Mast paced Hiland's offense, picking up 16 kills. Mast got some help from Brianna Mishler and her 25 assists. Mishler also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alayna Yoder, each putting up two.

Hiland's victory bumped their record up to 22-1. As for Newcomerstown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Hiland will take on Buckeye Trail in a tournament on Monday. Newcomerstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
