Football Recap: Parkside Falls Despite Big Games from Thomas Gormley and Tavian Dashiell

Parkside had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-2 to make it six. They fell 40-29 to the Colonel Richardson Colonels. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colonels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2016.

Tavian Dashiell and Thomas Gormley certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Dashiell picked up 179 receiving yards and four TDs, while Gormley threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes. Thanks to that big game, Dashiell is now up to 9 receiving touchdowns on the season.

As for Colonel Richardson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points over those games.

Jazir Dickerson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 76 yards and one score, while also catching one touchdown.

Parkside has already played their next matchup, a 35-0 loss against Wicomico on the 2nd. As for Colonel Richardson, they will be playing at home against Cambridge-South Dorchester at 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd.
