Softball Recap: Loretto Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lewis County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Loretto). They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Lewis County Panthers on Tuesday. The Mustangs have beaten the Panthers the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Ezell, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Cambrea Hanson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.

Loretto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Loretto picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Lewis County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Coming up, Loretto will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Mt. Pleasant at 4:00 p.m. Lewis County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
