Baseball Game Preview: Central Islip Musketeers vs. Riverhead Blue Waves

For the second straight game, Central Islip will face off against Riverhead. The Musketeers will face off against the Blue Waves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Central Islip has struggled recently with 22 losses in a row, while Riverhead will arrive with seven straight victories.

Riverhead hit Central Islip with a five-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Musketeers took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Waves. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 16, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Yendry Hernandez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
