Seeger took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against South Vermillion, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats on Thursday, sneaking past 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since April 10, 2024.

Lyla Badger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Seeger's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gwyn Henk, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Seeger and bumps their season record up to 5-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.5 runs over those games. As for South Vermillion, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
