Football Recap: Dixie Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Dixie kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 24-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richfield Wildcats.

Despite the loss, Dixie had strong showings from Deacon Virgin, who threw for 320 yards and a pair of TDs, and Payson Jacobson, who picked up 73 receiving yards and one touchdown. Jacobson really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dixie will host Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Richfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
