Soccer Recap: St. Stephens Comes Up Short

St. Stephens's game on Monday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They came up short against the South Caldwell Spartans, falling 4-1. St. Stephens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Caldwell apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Stephens and nudges their season record down to 1-12-1. As for South Caldwell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6-4.

St. Stephens and South Caldwell could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Indians (ranked 395th) will meet Watauga (ranked 32nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, South Caldwell will face off against Alexander Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (278 vs. 112).
