Volleyball Recap: Lakeland Now 13-3 over Last 16 Games

Lakeland hadn't done well against Merrill recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Thunderbirds came out on top against the Bluejays by a score of 3-1. For the Thunderbirds, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Bluejays walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2020.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 17-25, 25-19, 25-15.

When it comes to explaining why Merrill lost, don't look at Miley Krueger. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and four aces.

Lakeland is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Merrill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-13.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lakeland will face off against rival Mosinee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Merrill is set to challenge their familiar foe Rhinelander at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
