Soccer Recap: Lyons Wins Going Away Against Reavis

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lyons walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Reavis Rams with a sharp 7-0 victory on Tuesday. Given Lyons' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Reavis are ranked 291st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lyons' offense was hitting Reavis from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal.

Lyons is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five matchups. As for Reavis, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14-1.

Looking ahead, Lyons will square off against Fenwick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fenwick will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Lyons surely won't give up without a fight. Reavis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
