Softball Recap: Alva Goldbugs vs. Jones Longhorns
Thursday just wasn't the day for Alva's offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (1-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The shutout was out of character for they seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.
Trinity Stevens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alva saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myka Louthan, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Alva's defeat dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Jones, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
Alva didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-0 win against Holdenville on the 2nd. Hopefully Jones paid attention to the Goldbugs' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Goldbugs at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
