Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chavez). They claimed a resounding 48-20 victory over the Bear Creek Bruins. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Chavez was led to victory by Elijah Walker and Joel Donnell. Walker threw for 314 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, while Donnell gained 162 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Walker racked up 162.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. A healthy portion of Walker's aerial production (114 yards to be exact) went to Lamontae Barlow, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Another reason for the win was Chavez's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Damarion McDonald and Curtis Mayfield, who racked up five sacks between them. McDonald also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 12.

The victory keeps Chavez at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 36.5 points this season. As for Bear Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Chavez wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-27 victory against Tokay on the 19th. As for Bear Creek, they have also already played their next matchup, a 49-12 win against Weston Ranch on the 19th.
