Soccer Recap: Connally Victorious

Connally hadn't done well against Mexia recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Connally Cadets who were credited with the victory. The Connally Cadets got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Mexia Black Cats' two. My'Toria Gamble had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Cadets.

The win snapped Connally's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-6-1 record. As for Mexia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Connally is taking a road trip to take on Robinson at 5:00 p.m. on February 4th. Connally's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. Mexia has already played their next game (against Gatesville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
