Football Recap: California's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games + How To Watch

California was the 29-6 winner over Dougherty Valley when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Grizzlies took a 13-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Grizzlies came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Wildcats are ranked 327th).

Caeli AuYeung threw for 150 yards and one touchdown. Carissa Rogers was her top target, picking up 45 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Danica Boisseree rushed for 108 yards on only 13 carries.

Kaitlyn Lohe produced another solid effort rushing for 169 yards and one TD while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 195 yards and one touchdown for Dougherty Valley. Those 169 rushing yards gave Lohe a new career-high. 110 of Lohe's passing yards were hauled in by Lauren Lohe.

Having lost for the first time this season, California fell to 6-1. As for Dougherty Valley, their record is now 3-4.

Looking ahead, California will be playing in front of their home fans against Pittsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dougherty Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Northgate at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
