            Palma proved they can win big  last Monday (they won by 26) and  on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Aptos Mariners, sneaking past  14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Chieftains have posted  since October 1, 2024.
Palma has  been performing  well recently as they've  won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 26.3 points over those games. As for Aptos, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-1.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palma will welcome Carmel  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Aptos, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Lorenzo Valley  at 8:20  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Mariners will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
