Basketball Recap: Sarah Ball Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Rosman

Madison hadn't done well against Rosman recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went the Madison Patriots' way against the Rosman Tigers as the Madison Patriots made off with a 48-23 victory. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 35-19 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Madison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Ball, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Barnette, who posted six points and four steals.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aniya Swartz, who had four points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Swartz a new career-high in assists (three).

Madison's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13. As for Rosman, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Madison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-39 win against Draughn on the 31st. Rosman has also already played their next contest, a 57-19 loss against Mitchell on the 30th.
