Softball Recap: Oceanside Mariners vs. Camden Hills Windjammers

Oceanside extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They came up short against the Camden Hills Windjammers, falling 11-2. The Mariners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Windjammers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Camden Hills, they now have a winning record of 4-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the game before.

For Camden Hills' part, Charlotte McGreevy made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. McGreevy was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, Thea Laukka was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Adriana Pedro was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Oceanside will challenge Nokomis at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Camden Hills, they will face off against Hampden at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as the Windjammers come in on four and the Broncos on three.
