St. Ignatius College Preparatory is 0-5 against Marin Catholic since April of 2017 but things could change  on Friday. St. Ignatius College Preparatory will welcome Marin Catholic  at 4:00  p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
St. Ignatius College Preparatory's pitching crew heads into the  match  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Wednesday. They blew past Burlingame 11-0. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Wildcats.
 Olivia Dollard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Dollard was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Julie Galarza, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Delilah Berry, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Marin Catholic had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by  an  18-2 margin over Sonoma Valley. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  victory against them.
Like St. Ignatius College Preparatory, Marin Catholic also got a great game from a two-way player:  Malliah Foster. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Foster was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Morgan Carlson was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  triples, three  RBI,  and two  runs.  Grace Berringer was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while going 3-for-3.
 Marin Catholic  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  struck out at most four  strikeouts in five consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
 St. Ignatius College Preparatory came up short against Marin Catholic in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024, falling  4-0. Can St. Ignatius College Preparatory avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
