Football Recap: Wapato Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Wapato had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 60-0 loss at the hands of the Cashmere Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 61st).

Cashmere can attribute much of their success to Rylan Hatmaker, who threw for 173 yards and three TDs while completing 81.2% of his passes. Logan Spies was in the mix as well, providing the Bulldogs with two scores.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wapato will square off against rival Wahluke at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cashmere is set to take on their familiar foe Kiona-Benton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
