Basketball Recap: McGregor Comes Up Short

McGregor was the 48-44 winner over Stephenville when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The McGregor Bulldogs were beaten by the Stephenville Yellow Jackets/Honeybees 74-41 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1124th, while the Yellow Jackets/Honeybees are ranked 127th).

McGregor has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Stephenville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

McGregor will face off against Mumford on Thursday. As for Stephenville, they will be home for the holidays to greet Graford at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th. Stephenville is on a three-game streak of home wins, Graford a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
