Softball Game Preview: Franklin County Tech Eagles vs. Mohawk Trail Regional Warriors

The Franklin County Tech Eagles will face off against the Mohawk Trail Regional Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin County Tech will be strutting in after a victory while Mohawk Trail Regional will be coming in after a loss.

Franklin County Tech took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Athol with a sharp 21-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won five in a row.

Taylor Underwood was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cordelia Guerin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Mohawk Trail Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 14-10 to Pioneer Valley Regional.

Franklin County Tech's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mohawk Trail Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Franklin County Tech took their victory against Mohawk Trail Regional when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
