Baseball Recap: Hinckley-Finlayson Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Hinckley-Finlayson took on Ogilvie on Tuesday. The Jaguars fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. The Jaguars have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Hinckley-Finlayson got a good showing from Asher Clark, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Carson Hopkins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Hopkins is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Tanner Risley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Hinckley-Finlayson now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Hinckley-Finlayson will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] at 4:30 p.m. As for Ogilvie, they will take on Rush City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
