Volleyball Recap: Ani Despain's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tintic over Rich + How To Watch

Tintic lost against Rich back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Miners fell 3-1 to the Rebels. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 24-26, 25-16, 25-14.

Tintic lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ani Despain, who had 12 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Emily Terry, who had ten digs.

Paige Smith was a one-woman wrecking crew For Rich. as she had 25 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Smith has posted over her last seven matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyla Pugmire, who had ten digs and two aces.

Tintic's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Rich, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Tintic is set to take on their familiar foe Altamont at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rich will face off against rival St. Joseph at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
