Volleyball Recap: John Battle Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Adyson Halloway and Savannah Davis + How To Watch

If John Battle was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Johnson County on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans fell just short of the Eastside Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2018.

John Battle actually scored more points across those five sets (103-87), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 8-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Savannah Davis and Adyson Halloway certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Davis had 28 digs and five aces, while Halloway had 16 digs and three assists. Davis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

John Battle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Eastside, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, John Battle will challenge Patrick Henry at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, Eastside and Ridgeview will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
