Softball Recap: Emporia Has No Trouble Against Life Prep

Emporia won against West on Friday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Life Prep Fire. With that victory, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Emporia got a massive performance out of Atlyn Heffron, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Adriel Aguilar, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Emporia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .828. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Emporia and bumps their season record up to 8-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Life Prep, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Emporia will welcome Manhattan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Life Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
