Soccer Recap: Saint Francis Takes a Loss

If Saint Francis was riding high fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Archbishop Riordan last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saint Francis Lancers fell just short of the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Saint Francis' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, their win bumped their record up to 6-4-2.

Saint Francis will head out to take on Junipero Serra at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Junipero Serra will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Saint Francis surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Valley Christian at 3:15 p.m. St. Ignatius College Preparatory's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
